Day 16: Embers, a poem by Adam White, poet

Once, you lost your concentration,
And embers fell from phoenix form.
We who walked in your blessed wake,
Were burned. Blinded. Reshaped. Reformed.
Left to trail in panicked darkness,
I kept faith I'd find my way back,
But night is endless. Sunlight faded.
My world is grimmer, faded, black.
